Purpose: This project involved creating a series of illustrations showing a child with brachial plexus injury symptoms, the affected spinal nerves, and possible medical interventions to reduce the risk of injury, all combined into a simple presentation for a jury.
Audience: The general public.
Research:
I conducted detailed research on the nature of brachial plexus injuries, taking thorough notes on causes, symptoms, and medical interventions. To guide the visual approach, I created a moodboard of existing medical illustrations and visualizations. Using this as inspiration, I developed initial sketches of the illustrations and drafted layout ideas for the final presentation, ensuring both clarity and visual impact.
Patient Likeness:
I sourced an image to act as a patient likeness, this adds a touch of humanism the didactic images and reminds the viewer of real person who was affected by this illness.
